An 500 error has occurred.
Here are the 2 most common explanations.
Options is set in a .htaccess file.
The
.htaccess file can be on the webroot or in any subfolder on the
site. For security reasons Options is disabled. Unfortunately the
server throws an 500 error if it is set somewhere on the site.
A script on your site is trying to use
more
resources than allowed. This usually happens with dynamic
CMS
like Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal, when using a faulty
plugin, or having just too many plugins/addons enabled. If the
plugin is
not faulty, but just heavy on resources it is smart to use
caching, like WP Super Cache for Wordpress.
